her gravid spot is just as big as before birth... and they can hold for multi. days after birth because I was out of town so there is a three day window she could have birthed in I just know they where there when I came back

No, a 3 day window isn't too long of a period. I wouldn't call a week too long. But once she started, it could be any minute that she starts back. Guessing these types of things is just as hard in fish as in people. When will labor start, how long will it last, no one know for sure really.

One of my guppies did the same thing. But it took her only 3 days and i had already put her back in main tank. She did come to the glass while giving birth and i got too see it. Then she began eating them. Oh well, ya win some, ya loose some.
