The secret behind the "Secret" is the law of attraction and it states that what ever thoughts you have comes into reality if you keep thinking about it. Seeing the video on YouTube, these people who support the "Secret" state that if you want to have a million dollars or get that right soulmate you have to keep thinking about how you can get it and therefore you attract all these possibilities of achieving that target.

Now what I am confused is about the intentions you have in order to get whatever you want. Everybody in the "Secret" think that if you people start thinking about what they want they will have a positive life and in return create a positive world. These is where this 'law' is mistaken. If people think about what they want, they can have bad intentions or motives in mind when they are purusing that goal.

People can simply justify their actions because thats what they wanted, and what if people dont know what they want, would this philosophy still play a role?

The law of attraction does work. I've seen it work in my own life. I used to think negatively & bad things happened. Then I started to believe in myself & set goals & believe I could reach them & good things started to happen: (buying a beautiful new house in a new community, selling my paintings, playing my music at different venues, even getting on a radio show & my picture on the front page of the paper and meeting Mr. Right.) Positive thinking leads to positive things & negative thinking to negative. There is no bad & good luck, you make your own luck. You shape your own destiny. Now you are right, there are people with bad motives. Some people may prize money above all else & may step on people to get it. They will attract money but they will also attract the bad karma of hurting others. This is still a negative energy they are putting out.

We radiate an energy out into the universe with our thoughts. If your thoughts are good & loving & positive & life-affirming then the universe will reward you with joy & fulfillment & wonderful things. If your thoughts are selfish, greedy, ruthless & destructive then along with the material things you might acquire you will also attract misery, hatred and destruction. It's like a boomerang. What you put out you get back.

I never would have thought quantum physics held the secret to happiness but I've seen it work in my life. It's magical. There is a film called "What the Bleep do we know?" & it's very interesting. It discusses this idea. It also shows how words are so powerful that they can actually change the molecules in water. When you look at water under a microscope, it looks beautiful when a word like love or joy is applied to it, but when words like hate are there, it becomes dark & dismal. It's fascinating. Obviously words have an effect on us as well. So you have to use positive words about yourself & when speaking to others. Calling yourself stupid, or lazy or fat or any negative label actually hurts you physically. Say good things about you & watch how you benefit.

Your missed the part in "The Secret" that states, you focus on what you want, not on how it will come to you, the movie states that the universe will take care of that part. Where people hurt each other is in attempting to "make" things happen. Law of Attraction in the step called "receive" states you must come into harmony with what you want, a far different approach than the typical approach of "making" things happen or manipulating to make things happen. If you think you see others being hurt, know that the Law of Attraction is only bringing to them what they are attracting also.

Yes, you're right, you are confused about The Secret and The Law of Attraction.

If your intention behind what you want to attract is not "good" or based in love, you will know this inherently and not be emitting the positive vibrations necessary for the actual attraction to take place. It is not just a matter of thinking about what you want over and over. That is a gross simplification of the process. It is knowing with positive and deep emotion that what you have asked for is yours NOW. If you know that what you have asked for is something "not for the greater good" your emotion behind it will not hold the requisite positivity and passion that is necessary for the law of attraction to be engaged.

I hope that clears it up for you a little bit!

On what do starving people focus their entire intentions? Food, right? How then could anyone starve if they practiced "the Secret"? Same with money. Why do the poor stay poor?

Wishful thinking, positive or negative, won't get you anything but heartache. You have to have two things, confidence in yourself and a plan that incorporates many small, well defined and pausible steps toward a well defined and plausible goal.

God is in the business of granting you wishes, cause He loves you , but He will do it His way, the way that benefits you most ... even if it's hard!

You do attract. So keep thinking right.

We don't even need Quantum physics to prove it ... although I like many things about that branch of science.

to me, the law of attraction is focusing,,,,, if you focus on what you want,, you will take the small steps necessary to get to your goal,,,,,,, so its not simply "thinking" about it,,,,
and i think it can help to think in positive ways,,,,,,,
for instance, if i want to be at work on time, rather then thinking "i dont want to be late",, if i think " i want to be on time" then i will consider the actual driving time,,,,, perhaps organize myself so i can leave my house a few minutes early , etc etc .
again, to me, its facing reality,,,,,,,, and focusing on your goals,,,,,,, if i leave my house late, hope for no red lights etc, then i should accept that i wanted to take a chance of being on time,,,, or i planned to be late,,,,,,

i havent seen the Itube thing, but i would assume that like many concepts,,,,, different people have different takes on it
and yes your right, to say its simply repeating what you want, over and over,,,, is overly simplifying it
