First of all, you have to mention which password - either BIOS or System (Windows /Linux).

If u have forgot BIOS password (which comes on the blank screen first of all in Black and White characters), then you should remove the CMOS Battery otherwise shot the jumpers of the motherboard.

If u have problem regarding Windows password (which is displayed with welcome screen), then just press Ctrl + Alt + Delete twice then u will see a dialog box. Write "Administrator" in username and let the password leave blank. Then click OK. This will surely do the things.

find someone with the windows installer cd and reinstall windows. If it has a sticker on it somewhere from windows you might even be lucky enough to get a key off it. If it is sold with windows on it it is bound by law to have one of these stickers. You are going to have quite a bit of trouble trying hack a password from noting but the login screen. You might be able to get some stuff out of it if you take the hard drive out and put it in another machine and have a good hacker (a malicious programmer who knows his way around) take a look for some stuff. If you can find a password hash in it by putting it in another computer and have the time to sit around and wait for a bruteforcer to crack it do that, but I personally dont know how you would get that hash, just have heard things of that nature spoken of and have used a bruteforcer on a web tutorial.
