The extreme rants and hypocritical action of this man is something else. do as I say, not as I do. The fact is yes the earth has warmed less than 1 degree over the past century. Recorded history proves the earth does go through cooling and heating cycles. The average person would and does respond better to just a simple bit of common sence. Is it better for all to just use less? of cource. Is it not better to have less crap in the air, well unless you like the taste of smog then of cource. Wouldn't america be better off if we were not so dependant on oil...well da!!! so instead of blaming why not just use less. Carbon offsets are a proven fraud. lets make real choices that have real benifets.

sorry don't listen to Rush. Get my knowledge from reliable sources. And that would not include moveon.org

This is the kind of environmentalism I can live with, and in fact applaud. So long as you aren't talking about getting the government involved in what should be private choices... Are you? But even if you are, you have a good point: if it's such a drastic problem, why are we wasting so much time talking about it and pointing fingers? Isn't the planet going to melt or blow up or something in a hundred years if we don't act now? If that were really true (I have my doubts), waiting around for another few decades or so isn't going to help matters any. Neither is passing resolutions condemning those who put excessive amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. If people are so concerned about it, they should stop protesting and actually be a little bit more pro-active in "being part of the solution" (gag me with a spoon), shouldn't they?

Here is my stock answer - looks like this spike in the cycle is bigger and faster than the ones in the past. And we have more people, therefore more potential casualties resulting from any cyclical change like less food production or flooding of low areas.

So if we are not causing it, but if we can help by changing our behavior, then logic compassion and morality dictate that we take action. I don't care if a bloviated documentary or a fairy godmother makes us take action.

Oh, Please. The current administration jacked up the politics of fear to new heights.

Be Afraid, Terrorists and the axis of evil are trying to kill you so you must give up some freedoms.
Be Afraid, addressing carbon emissions will cost you your job.
Be afraid, permitting same-sex marriage will destroy your family.
Be afraid, saving lives with stem cells will create abortion factories.
Be afraid, balancing the budget with less spending will make us less safe.
Be afraid, balancing the budget with more taxes will destroy the economy.

The difference between the fear that Bush mongers and the concern that Gore raises is truth.

Your reliable sources must exclude the entire scientific community, and every English teacher that tried to help you.

Newt Gingrich recently stated that he agrees with the science, that global warming is real and we need to work together to do something about it. So has John McCain.

You can fool all of the people some of the time.
You can fool some of the people all of the time.
You cannot fool all the people all the time.

Just be patient.

So you believe Rush Limbaugh over the entire scientific community?

Pathetic.

If he had to rely on hard, objective science he'd have nothing anybody would want to hear. So he makes stuff up.. Politics as usual.
