No dealer will let you take it off the lot without insurance, and some insurance companies insure the bike, while others insure the rider.

You have to have insureance to ride it anyway, and I doubt you'd go buy a bike and just let it SIT THERE until you got your license (or permit at the very least).

It probably depends on the insurance company. Realistically you don't need a license to OWN a motorcycle, just to drive it. So if they're reasonable they'll insure the bike for you.

Of course, if you drive it without the license, you'll void your insurance.

You absolutely HAVE to have the license before you get the insurance. You can't ride a bike (legally, insured or not) here in Tx without a valid license.

It depends on what state you live in here in CT I purchased my 06 gixxer with just my drivers license its just missing the M (motorcycle) endorsement They also insured it and let me take it off the lot without a permit or the motorcycle license, they just made me sign a form saying I didn't have a permit or a license and I know it is illegal to ride without one. so they just use your class D license

Good question. I would think you could get insurance against theft. But I doubt if they will insure you driving it, unless you are legal, with a license.

No, you can get insurance on it without a license. You'll need it to get your license when you take your skills test.
