You can buy a Targus cooling pad to put under it. That's what we do with ours.

go to ebay look their
i took a 4"x4" computer fan made a cardboard &ducktape
cooler that spread air from the rear it forces air through my laptop and keeps it cool.

keep the ventilated fan area has enough room to run fresh air.u could also use the cooling pad as the other said.

U can keep it up on a table, try not to put it on a couch or anything, thats wat makes it over heat. Also make sure u hav a plug thats the exact size & its not a ghetto plug, lolz :D
