I have a GED, but I also graduated college too. It is said that they are equivelent, but if your looking for a job, it means crap without college. Employers now a days want degrees from folks, unless you work at mcdonald's or something like that. No punt intended on you. highly recommend going to college for the degree if your worried about what is good.

It's really no different when looking for a job. You're able to receive the same minimum wage jobs with either. In fact, a lot of people I know have dropped out of high school to receive their GED and save themselves time. They then attended trade school at seventeen, instead of waiting the extra year. This country is becoming more competitive, and you'll need a higher education afterwards, anyhow.

It should be, but probably is not in all cases. I'm sure some employers look at it as the person dropped out of school and was not responsible enough to graduate. I'm sure GED's are not always looked at as a positive thing, that at least the person got the GED instead of not doing even that much. I guess it has a negative stereotype attached to it to some people.

Go to a community college and get an AA/AS degree if you don't want to forever be known as a "GED". It is good to get you into college. Good luck!

I think if you put down on an application that you have a GED then they think the worst.
