HE STANDS FOR SURVIVAL AND FREEDOM

2007-05-01 15:12:19 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

He is iconic on the ideals of human freedom and justice for people still struggling with some form of government oppression. He is respected, which is increasingly important as the overall constituencies find that they are unable to trust their elected officials. Allow me to paraphrase the eloquence of several poets, that would answer your question in this way. The short powerful stroke of the pen from William Cullen Bryant would say; Truth crushed to earth will rise again; The poetic cadence of James Russell Lowell once said, truth forever on the scaffold, wrong forever on the throne, yet that scaffold sways the future and behind the dim unknown standards is God watching over his own; and the tortured voice of many Christians would say, the bible is right you shall reap what you sow. Mandela comes out on the positive side of the equation and his importance and influence remains relevant to man-kinds struggle to be a decent human being, before all of the titles and the trappings of the State.

Nelson Mandela is very old, however his legacy will live on for centuries. Mandela is a true humanitarian and leader of men. Not just men of color, but all men. He governed by giving all men equal rights, and he was successful in keeping his country fiscally sound because he didn't do the misdeeds of his neighbor in Zimbabwe who is a study in gross stupidity !

Mandela is a quick study in courage, honesty, fairness, and integrity. He will live on to be considered one of the greatest human beings of the 20th century !
