Alright, lets not go as far as to say that the democrats are trying to murder our military. My son is serving in the USMC, I'm a former active USMC and a card carrying Republican and I don't think that. I do however think that the path that they are suggesting is misguided. The olive branch was already been offered and this was refused. We, along with our allies, stated our intentions and then proceeded with an agreed upon (Congress and Senate) plan of action. Our military only goes where we tell them to go. The house and senate need to present a unified front and, working with the president, develop a modified plan for the region. There should be no withdrawl, this would leave a vacuum in the region that would undermine all the advances we have made and would nullify all the hard work and lives lost during this action. We should be the ones talking more, not talking with terrorists.

Congress is not keeping the money from the troops, they have made sure that this is not what is happening. Why would any political party want to see American lives being given up for no reason? Oh, right, the Republican President sent troops to a country that had done nothing to us 5 years ago & now it is the Democrats that are trying to kill our military personal! Right!

All current efforts are fully funded. The issues is not about providing money to keep the troops safe. The issue is about finding a way out of the illegal and badly managed military action.

Bush misrepresented the intelligence use to authorize the war. Bush did not ensure there was a clear objective with a viable exit strategy. Bush is insisting on keeping the military action going regardless of the loss of life in our military.

You are right that they shouldn't play politics when it affects the lives of our troops. That being the case, the President should have signed the bill. He could have found a way around it, if need be, later.

Don't fool yourself. Democrats and Republicans are equally responsible for this war and they ALL have blood on their hands.

it's hilarious how the left "thinks" they are doing something for the troops by propping up a bill that basically slaps the troops in the face. "Don't look at that man behind the curtain!!" Just look at the smoke and mirrors. The Dems know, that Bush will veto the bill with a time line on it.... yet, the pretend to care by serving that garbage up anyhow so they could "claim they tried. How about SENDING A CLEAN BILL THROUGH? Theres a thought.... fund the troops... not your agenda.

Say What? Bush vetoed the money. PERIOD. We have better things to do. Let's move on. If he needs money for his little war get it from the veterans administration or somewhere or has he already stolen for them?

Why invade a country without adequate planning? Why veto a bill that has funding for the troops?

I don't remember any of them saying that. They're the ones that want to bring the troops home.
