WHY DO THEY THINK WHAT DR.'S SAY IS ALWAYS RIGHT

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't think a lot of people do. I have, though, met several people who think all doctors are quacks, and refuse to see them. I'm guessing such people don't live as long on average.

Doctors are professionals. They go through years of schooling followed by years more of interning, and then (hopefully) decades of actual practice. Only a fool would think that doctors are ALWAYS right, they are humans too after all. But it is just as foolish to think that doctors don't know any more than you or I about medicine. My mechanic doesn't know every last thing about my car, but I would trust his judgment in automotive matters a helluva lot more than I would trust a friend's, or my own.

If something has happened to you to cause you to lose confidence in doctors, I would suggest that you change doctors and chalk up your bad experience to just having the bad luck of seeing a bad doctor. It is unfair to discriminate against an entire profession because a couple members of it make a mistake.

They're only human, after all.

Dr's go through very extensive and rigorous training. It takes a lot of commitment and passion to end up becoming a doctor. I really do respect them. And more so, because they relieve me of my pain. They are like demi-gods in many ways. (talking bout the real docs....not the quacks out there just for the profit)

Imagine suffering with pain that u can barely move (and thinking that u rather just die than bear that pain), going to the doc's office, being understood for what u r going through, getting the right medicines/treatment, and feeling better eventually on your way to health and smiles. Blessing right?

Although you would hope that because of the importance of their jobs doctors would always be right but it just isn't so. Doctors are just people too and they make mistakes the same as anyone. It's our responsibility to make sure we choose a doctor we feel comfortable with and to educate ourselves whenever possible.Paying close attention to our own bodies and how we react to certain things is number one in being able to help your doctor in diagnosing your problem.
I think that some people never challenge a doctor because they feel intimidated by them. They have a higher level of education than the average person and it's their job to know about the human body.
It's well worth it to remember .... it's your body they're messin with !! If we aren't comfortable with what our doctor says it's our own responsibility to make sure we do something about it. Don't get me wrong , I am not putting doctors down in any way . They provide an amazing service but as I said they are just people ... the same as you and me . It would be unrealistic to think that they would be 100% right all of the time.

Very rash generalization. I know of no one who thinks Dr.'s are God. Common sense would dictate that a doctor who has studied his trade 8-10 years before legally practicing would know a little something about his profession don't you think? Not saying they dont still make mistakes but who doesnt?

Not all people do. Many people take things with a grain of salt. But they have every reason to think the doctor is right because the doctor is smarter. He knows better than the common man because he has spent years and years in medical school and training.

Because doctors, like God, have the power of life and death in their hands to some degree.

There's a big difference between thinking you are God and thinking you have answers to questions.

We are prudent people. When we don't know something we accept the dictum of the expert. When it concerns life and death, that expert sometimes assumes the dimensions of God.
