This all depends on what kind of vampire you are interested in. There are various types of vampires in myth. While vampires in myth are often dead, they are cursed, changed, or altered in another way to lust for the blood of the living. They do have blood. This is not only the animated corpse type, but the now popular type that is more than an animated corpse. Examples include Dracula, the Anne Rice universe, or other Hollywood vampires. (I believe Angel/Spike and other Buffy vampires bled)
And of course there are modern day vampires.
Modern day vampires are not the undead. Rather they are spiritually different then normal humans and may or may not have the urge to drink blood. And since we are living breathing people, we definitely have blood.

Blood coagulates when it stops circulating due to the heart ceasing from beating, another thing is that blood types differ from person to person. It makes me think if vampires have a preference for O blood types(universal donors), and if they would refuse the blood of someone with a blood disorder such as anemia.

I reserched a lot about vampires, as i believe they excist. Blood is known to many people to be the life escence, a vampire does not have its own escence of life so it steals it from others, the only way of doing this is from drinking their blood or having blood be put into their body anyway. Pci vampires need the life escence of the energy and blood vampires need the escence of blood. When a vampire gets blood from another life source it is attacked by the vampires DNA and reverts to that one. :):) Hope this kinda answers it Bubbles36 xox

They could have kool aid in their veins, they don't exist. You can make up whatever you want.
I feel like I'm explaining why cartoons don't get hurt, they are only drawings. I've had to explain that to a five year old.
There are a few mind damaged people who want to believe in such stuff, even to the point of emulating a vampires perceived behavior.
I don't mind a rare steak, but a bloody human is more than I can stomach.

Oddly enough yes they do. They consume blood to keep themselves "alive". True it's not their own blood but it is blood. You'd have to thing, even though their undead since they had die and come back to life...they're still really alive.

Vampires have blood, but I think they have to drink it. That's where it comes from. If they didn't drink it, they'd run out of blood and die, because they can't make their own. Blood is what they live on. It's like what food/water is to humans. Sure, it's "in" us, but it eventually gets used up, and we need more to survive.

yes, because the muscles need blood to move. Just because their undead doesn't mean they can move, you can be undead and stuck in your coffin for eternity.

Why do zombies eat flesh? I guess if they didn't have any blood in their bodies, they really would cease to be animate objects.
