It is a very good book and try to go past the beginning. It is about the relationships between British people and Indians at the beginning of the 20th C and it is set in India.

Yes it is an interesting book, but beware and don't take the short cut by watching the movie, there's a lot of differences! I found the book to be enchanting, but like many other books, it does take some time to get going. In my reading I've noticed that you have to read 10-20% of the book, get passed the exposition, before it begins. In this book there is a great deal more sensuality and sexuality than in the movie, and that can make it more interesting (but no, don't look for the huge amount of direct and open sex, it's not there)

Be like Thornton Mellon (Rodney Dangerfield) in "Back to School". Watch the movie: it's available on VHS. Don't feel bad... the movie sucked too.

ITS NOT SO INTERESTING BUT HIGHLY APPRAISED( I MEAN CRITICALLY) SO READ IT FOR KNOWLEDGE IF NOTHING ELSE. IT ISNT SO BAD THAT IT WILL SCARE SOMEONE OFF. U WILL HAVE TO READ IT SINCE NO ONE CAN TELL YOU ALL THE THINGS ON NET. COME ON HAVE COURAGE; U CAN DO IT.
