why or why not?
I personally think they are just "being nice" to "practice their religion" and take it very lightly.
What about you?

Some people just have constant conscious awareness of what they say and do, and are truly meaning of the compliments that they pay others. The only time I myself do not believe is when someone asks for something, and are denied their request. Like, "Do you have any change?", "No.", "Oh, yeah, well God BLESS YOU, SIR!"

Interesting question. My simple answer to this question is that religion has nothing to do with showing love or giving you a compliment. Ghandi was not particularly religious but he was an individual who is known for his kindness, he believed in God but he was not religious. Everyone, no matter what follows their own little practices, religion is no exception. I would take a compliment from anyone, regardless of their religious or cultural background. As long as I FEEL that its done in HONESTY. :)

Don't you like being complimented?
Think about this. What kind of person would even concider a church the place for them to spend their life?
I would suspect that person is a do-gooder type who wants to make a difference to the world. Religion isnt about getting to heaven, its about understanding life and how to get along while you are alive.
It is good to show kindness to people. It is positive and uplifting to find the good in a person, especially if they are a stranger.
Would you rather expect them to pick you apart and tell you your faults?

I'm a christian and if i give a compliment etc i mean it, its sinful to lie. I give compliments and love to make people feel good, special etc but only if I can do so in all honesty. Jesus says treat others as you would wish to be treated so that's what I do. I like hearing nice things about myself so return the favour.

I think this is a laughable and wrong generalisation. I'm sure there are plenty of Pharisees in any religion, as there are in the Green movement, groups of anti-vivisectionists, the pro-choice lobby, and any other band of ideologues you care to name. But basically, you're wrong to assume all members of any religion are just selfishly 'being pious' and do not have genuine and proper affection for others in the same way every one else does (but let's be honest - there's a certain degree of selfishness in all human actions).

First off...wtf? Secondly, I'm sure you're aware enough to realize that, *gasp*, some Christians are naturally nice people. Not only that, but I guarantee you can find numerous two-faced, insincere people, of any religion or no religion at all. Get over yourself. You come across pretty dim. There are billions of different types of people who are Christians and who also are Christians for reasons unique to them. Once again, grow up.

compliments for what? Who are the people? friends? I am not sure I understand.
So you must be talking about close friends or family. It really depends on the person. Who THEY are..it is pretty shallow to think just because they are christian or another make them honest people.

If I don't know them NOT AT ALL and even the ones I do know I'm leery of. Christians always offer you a helping hand but they have a bible in the other behind their backs. Same thing with any other religion, their number one motive is ALWAYS to convert you. But still treat each person on a case by case basis. Sometimes if it walks like a duck it IS a duck.

I wasn't aware that compliments needed to be trusted, to be quite honest .
Compliments are kinds words to let a person know they are worthy of one .
Doesn't matter what religion they are .imo

you're the suitable of the homestead and it will be superb if there's a thanks to keep your son remote from him in case you could't be there, yet circumstances do no longer continually bypass our way, and also you could't stress your will on your spouse if she takes your son hostile for your needs. you want to substantiate you're speaking and training your son what he needs to understand, and clarify about your brother in regulation for your son or maybe inspire your son to wish with you for the brother in regulation.
