Have you tried Jennifer Crusie? She's GREAT! My favorites are Bet Me and Faking It. Very funny romantic comedies -- and the heroines are in their 30s, so they know what they want!

I loved the Brother Cadfael mysteries, and I liked the Stephanie Plum ones (by Janet Evanovich).

There's a great series set in Egypt -- the heroine's name is Amelia Peabody. One of the titles (but not the best one) is The Camel Died at Noon. You can read these by themselves, but the series is very good. It's very funny, and has got a little mystery in it too.

Also, I really liked the Betsy the Queen of the Vampire series by Mary Janice Davidson. Pure fluff, but very, very funny -- not dark and dreary like some vampire series are. I'm not so fond of some of her other stuff.

I LOVE to read, I've have boxes just piled with books I've read. I have several suggestions. I don't know how old you are, but I'm seventeen so a few of these will be teen books. The first will be teen fantasy books. There is a series called The Guardians of Time trilogy, the first is called The Named and it is by Marianne Curley. Another would be a twelve book series called the Daughter's of the Moon, by Lynne Ewing. Some other favorites are the Sarah Dessen books, Dreadful Sorry by Kathryn Reiss, Twilight and New Moon By Stephanie Meyer. Dreadful Sorry is a time fantasy book. Some of my favorite more adult books would be the James Patterson books. Most of his are murder mysteries but there are two books called The Lake House and When the Wind Blows. Michael Palmer has a murder mystery called Fatal. Books that would be similar to the Devil Wears Prada is books by Mary Kay Anderson and a two book series by Shanna Swendson, the first is called Enchanted, Inc and the second is Once Upon Stilettos.

You don't say what age you are but if you like video games and skateboarding I would suggest GAMEPLAYER: The Genesis Portal by Gary Anderson.

GAMEPLAYER is for readers 12 through 18. It follows the adventures of Nine-dog, Gator and Louie; three racially diverse buddies growing up in the skateboarding, video gaming obsessed Santa Monica, California beach life-style. Their lives revolve around school, skateboarding and video gaming until a bizarre encounter with a run amuck video game propels them into a deadly world of terror, murder and intrigue.

Yes, I am the author and I think it is a well written book that you will enjoy.

Try Dan Brown's DaVinci Code, Angels & Demons, or Deception Point. Or try the Harry Potter series. I guarantee you'll love them! I'm 24 years old, I just started the HP series a few months ago and I've already finished all 6, and while I wait for the 7th I'm re-reading all the previous volumes.

3. Eragon and Eldest

If I think of more I'll edit this. :)

Any of James Patterson's books. He has some really great series of murder/detectives, love and it's all twisted!
Ted Dekker is another of my favorite. His Circle Trilogy is awesome, Black, Red and White (The three different books in that order.)

Thus spoke Zarathustra, Friedrich Nietzsche --> philosophy

Either/Or, Soren kierkegaard --> philosophy/romance

The stranger, Albert Camus -->novel/philosophy

All three are novel like, but are still philosophical. And really good.
