do taranchulas shed thier legs?

I have a taranchula that came from missori..I thought it was dead because there were legs poking out of it's cave...well when we picked up its cave rock lo and behold there was a bigger live spider??????

No, just its "skin" (actually, its skin is its exoskeleton).
