= 3/10 * 14.99
= (3*14.99)/10
= 44.97/10
= 4.497
= $4.50 (corrected to 2 d.p.)

put it in a proportion...
30 is part of a 100 so
30 x
----- = -----
100 14.99

now u cross-multiply........ so 30*14.99=100x
so it equals 449.7=100x
now divide each side by 100
sooo it would be 4.497=x........
but you have to round it if you're talking cents........
so the answer would be $4.50

$14.99 * 30%/100%
= $14.99 * 0.3
= $4.497 or about $4.50
