I'm struggling with chemsity, and I really need help. Does anyone know how to do this problem? Please only answer if you're somewhat aware of how to do this.

"A sample of gas at constant volume has a pressure of 7.5 ATM and a temperature equalto 25 degrees Celcius. What will the pressure be in mmHg when the temperature increases to 50 degrees Celcius? "

Use the combined gas law, P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2

the volume doesn't change, so this becomes Gay-Lussac's Law P1/T1 = P2/T2

You need to make sure that the units are consistent. So the pressure has to be either in atm or mm Hg., but not both.

The temperature must be in Kelvin, not oC

So convert he P1 from 7.5 atm to mm Hg by multiplying by 760 mm / atm

Convert the temperatures to Kelvin by adding 273.

Now plug in and solve for P2.
