I HAVE TO TAKE AN ORAL TEST FOR MY FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASS. I KNOW THE LANGUAGE WELL B/C I PASS EVERY TEST WITH STRAIGHT As. NOW I HAVE THIS ORAL TEST COMING UP THIS WEEK AND I'M VERY AFRAID TO TAKE IT! YES, I HAVE A FEAR OF ORAL TESTS, SO I TRY TO DODGE THEM. I'M VERY FREAKED OUT, I FEEL AS IF I'M ABOUT TO HAVE A PANIC ATTACK! MY FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER IS VERY COOL WITH ME BUT I'M STILL SCARED OF THE TEST! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO TO AVOID MESSING UP?

Practice, Practice, Practice. Have someone you really enjoy being around listen to your oral speaking skills before the exam. This way you can get first-hand feedback on your speaking skills. This will definitely boost your self-confidence.

OK: so you're confident.

Find another compotent, possibly equally underconfident, student, and talk. An hour a day, say.

Deep, slow and regular breathing to calm and relax in the 15 minutes while you await the test, then forget about passing and enjoy the language expression for what it is: something that will last you the rest of your life, expand your awareness of other people's ways of thinking and serve you in some degree and/or capacity long after you have flunked the test, loser. (*Just kiddin' *)

And remember: the examiners are losers too!!

(I passed my hard French O-Level, and failed the easy French O-Level (I did two, just in case I failed the harder examination board's) - I still can't work it out, but I think I was more focussed when I had accepted potential/likely failure, and not so attentive when it was the easy (= sloppy, in my case) exam). {For what that's worth.}

I would recommend that you make flash cards and have a friend or family member quiz you so you have to somewhat duplicate test conditions.

If you want to place more pressure on yourself, set a timer when they quiz you so that you have to finish the quiz in the allotted time.

With this practise, it should take the stress off of you during the actual test.

Good luck!

Just relax, you'll be fine. You said that you got all A's on the other tests so even if you do mess up, this one test won't affect your grade anyway. If you know the information like you say you do you will be fine. Just try to not think about it as much.
