Is it just me, or does it seem like the orange construction road signs give wrong distances? For example, one will say "Road Work 1000 Feet" and then the next one will be like 100 feet away and say "Road Work 500 Feet." Then there will be the actual construction like 50 feet beyond that. Am I just that bad at gauging distances?

No the construction crews that set them up don't know distances too well. I also love the signs that say bump, and the location of the bump and the sign is significantly less of a bump than the rest of the road.

You are not that bad at gauging distance, but the person placing the signs is. I am sure they do not take a tape measure to it.

It's not you. Construction workers don't measure these things out, they just drop 'em where they "think" it should be. Dangerous? Sometimes yes. You would be surprised on how substandard most construction traffic controls are.
