nice pants and a blouse are fine. you don't need to wear high heels, but you shouldn't wear sandals. (open toes are inappropriate for the workplace.) if you have a suit, even better, but not necessary. depending on the event and your role at the event depends on the colors. if you are speaking or presenting, or going for the purpose of finding a job, wear bold, bright red, blue or purple with black or earth-tone colors. if wearing prints, wear only ONE piece that is a print (like a top OR skirt/pants in animal print). more than one piece is too much. a safer option is to stick with solid colors though. make sure your hair is done nicely and that you do something creative, but conservative with your make up. if you normally wear nail polish, make sure that it is not chipping off. it is better to go with naked nails or use clear nail polish than to have chipping polish.

I would suggest a nice lightweight suit. Short sleeve blouse just in case it gets warm.
Or, you can do a nice dress with a sport jacket. Two piece sweater ensembles are nice too. They can be worn with either a skirt or trousers.
Purse and shoes should match. Light makeup, soft perfume.
Good luck

I have the same problem. I worked as a fitness trainer and now I will be working back in "corporate world" and I feel that I lost my sense of fashion. You can never go wrong with separate pieces that you can add/change into other outfits. Try this website and perhaps this will help us both come up with a great versatile wardrobe and not have to spend a fortune. Good Luck!

Business attire always means a suit jacket and heels for women in the financial industry. Slacks or a skirt are your choice.
If you see your piers without a jacket, you can take it off during the event

A light-weight suit, either dress, skirt or pants with a cami under the jacket. And some matching strappy heels.

I would wear a nice pants suit. You can find nice ones at Penney's and Sears. I think you would fee most comfortable in that. Hope this helps!

Black slacks or skirt with nice white blouse and heels always looks smart, if it's cold take a matching jacket. Black and white together are power colors. Take it easy and relax, you will do fine.

It depends on the time of year. Now, springtime, you can wear a light weight suit or a pantsuit in spring colors. Don't forget the highheels
