I recently lost a cat I had my whole life, he was senial, and peed everywhere, we had to take him to the shelter. I don't think they gav ehima chance for a home, they probably just put him to sleep, being twenty years old. Now I only cry when I see pictures of him, you have to first, give it some time and try to do something to take your mind off of it. Surround yourself with friends, an donce you can go for atleast a day without you having a meltdown, you should get another pet, not to replace the old one, but maybey something smaller, like a rat or ferret. These animals will bring you joy and will play with you, and you'll have something to look forward to when you get home from school. Its hard to lose a pet, especially one you were especially close to. But, if you spend your time grieving, then you won't ever be happy, I don't want to tell you to forget about your pet, remember him/her forever, but she dosn't have to be a part of your day every day. Don't listen to people who tell you to think of the happy times you had, that will just make you melancholly like it did me. You'll feel better, time is the best answer, maybey your becoming depressed, perhaps see a doctor who can prescrib esome anti depressants for you until you can hande it. I hope I helped.

I am 10 years old and i've had 5 pets in 5 years. I was really sad for the first month and then i realized they weren't coming back. Tell your teacher that you have recently lost a pet and say that's why your grades are coming down.i still think about my pets and do sometimes cry. And your friend is in a good place now(not that it wasn't good before). wish you luck.

I'm sorry you had to give up your pet. It's loss whether you had to give the animal away or your pet died. Allow yourself to be sad. Talk to someone you trust about how you feel. If you can, tell your parents. Talk to a counselor or a teacher you trust at school about the problem you are having right now - they may be able to help you.
Loss is a terrible thing, but you will gradually feel better over time. It does get better but it takes some time.

It's hard to lose a pet or anything that you care for. Hopefully he has a new home with other people that love him and care for him. Being sad is normal when you have a loss, but try to console yourself with the thought he has another home. It's hard when you miss your dog to remember you want the best for your pet and if you could not keep him, you got him another home. Try to get very busy so that you don't have time to dwell on sad thoughts. Your dog knows you love him. Time will heal your loss, just remember he is alive and happy. Separation does not make for happy, but it doesn't end your love. I am so sorry for your loss.

well at least the animal didnt die. it is alive and happy, probaly missing you. My dog died 1 month ago, and i know she is in a better place. but i would still rather that she was alive and with another family if not with me because she was so young.
