The place to start is the same for any career.

Identify people that are already doing the kind of work you want to do. Buy them lunch and ask them how they got where they are. This might not get you lunch with the CEO of Versace, but you just need someone that can tell you how to get started. If you're a good listener and know how to say "I'd like that" and "I can do that" a lot, it may well "accidentally" turn into a job interview before you realize it. When that doesn't happen, and often it won't, always ask "Is there anyone you'd recommend I talk to? Can you help me with an introduction?"

I can't think of a single career that won't work for.

Sooner or later you have to commit to something. If you don't, you might as well commit to nothing, because that's what you'll get.
