i could only come up with one; Coded phrases. In Liberacie's interview, he says "I wish I could find somebody like Prince Phillip" (who just married Princess Elizabeth II). In those days homosexuality was not tollerated at all. The subject was so taboo that even mentioning it would get a broadcaster's licensen pulled. However, little slips like Liberacie's went below the radar. In the 60's it got to the veiled "Oh, one of those" stage, especially in the late 60's with "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" and "The Smothers Brothers' Comedy Hour."

Are you sure you heard that right? I don't remember Murrow ever mentioning that. Aside from the obvious tactics of McCarthy that Murrow railed against, he also butted heads with CBS exec's over them trying to keep Murrow from covering "controversial" subjects. So there are a couple:
