I am pregnant with my second child, due mid-January. My first boy is two years old, and with him, I had no morning sickness at all. I was praying this one would be the same, but I'm not sure it is. This morning at 11:15 I ate a BLT for breakfast (not healthy, I know, I know, so please don't talk about that) and afterwards I started to feel SO SICK. I was sick to my stomach for about an hour and a half, then I ran to the bathroom and threw up twice. I felt a little better, then about 30 minutes later I threw up seven or eight times til there was nothing coming out except mucus and water. I thought it was over. I laid down for a nap around 2:30, and when I woke up my stomach hurt again. Since 4, I have had horrible diarreah and I can't keep anything down, not even water or sprite. I'm starving, but I'm afraid to eat. Does this sound like morning sickness or something else, and if it is ms, what can I eat or drink to help settle my stomach? Thanks

it sounds more like food poisoning than morning sickness. but it could be morning sickness. every pregnancy is different so you may be reacting to this one in a different way.

i would suggest try to eat some plain crackers and cold ginger ale. eat and drink very slowly.

if you have trouble keeping that down you can always call your doctor to she what he/she has to say. they may be able to prescribe you some medication to help with your sickness.

feel better!!

I had horrible morning sickness with my son from about 4 weeks until 8 months...I was so sick, i couldn't even keep water down. I eventually went to the hospital where they gave me something to stop the puking, but I still felt really sick all the time. I swore I wouldn't get pregnant again because I was so sick all the time.

Then in July, I got pregnant again *oops* and before i even KNEW I was pregnant, i was horribly nauseated, but I figured it was stress. I started throwing up and for a week couldn't keep anything down again. When I realized I was pregnant, I knew i wasn't going to keep it, but I still had to be hospitalized because of dehydration. What they told me is that what I had was a severe form of morning sickness and there wasn't really anything they could do about it except give me something to keep me from throwing up. I found nothing with me that helped settle my stomach except those mexican wheat chips that were chili and lime flavored for some reason. That really was the only thing that worked with me. But yes...you have morning sickness bad and I feel for you. Good luck.

Maybe the bacon you ate in the sandwich was bad. I tend to think you ate something bad because you do not get diarrhea as a part of pregnancy nausea

Call the doctor now.

You can drink some Pedialyte or gator aid to keep hydrated. You can eat crackers.

Don't second guess, especially since there is diarhea involved. Maybe you ate something bad, maybe it's the flu, maybe it's something else. I suggest consulting with your doctor. You are taking a risk by not drinking anything, you are risking dehydration. It really does sound like you need professional medical care.

For now, SIP at Sprite or Gingerale. If you have mint gingerale in your area it's even better for your stomach. Nibble at dry toast and soda crackers, and PLEASE SEE A DOCTOR!

you know that 'glow' they say pregnant women have? yea, thats just the flush, clammy face of someone that just barffed their brains out.
i did this with my first one, i wasnt sick often but when i was it was all day. the only thing that worries me is the diarrhea. watch your hydration. i think that is babies way of telling you 'no more bacon!'. if you are still having problems tomorrow i would call doctor, especially if you are still having diarrhea. in the mean time try some saltines. just a couple.

good luck i hope you feel better soon

food poisoning usually takes 12+ hours to show up. Think about what you ate earlier. You need to make sure you stay hydrated, drink Gatorade, water. if it lasts more than a day I'd call my doctor. try dry toast, broth, crackers, pop cycles.
