it is all in the presentation. If you go to a clerk and ask if they are the manager, or the owner- your complaint will be handled quickly. If you go in with a bad attitude and start swearing- forget it- your complaint will go in a basket- the garbage basket. My husband politley complained about his hotel room, complimenting the management, and got a free night, many times. The delivery is everything, be nice, it pays off.

sometimes complaining can be useful, when it's constructive. you have to include some possible solutions to the thing you are complaining about. also it depends on who you are complaining to. if you are dealing with a stubborn s.o.b, it could be a waste of time.

"Complaining" as such is wasting time. Use "constructive thoughts or processes or even criticism if you wish to call it that.
