Absolutely. There is no logic in telling our enemy when we will surrender. The whole process of sending a bill that had no chance of being signed and no chance of that veto being overidden was shameful. If the dems are done with the war, cut off the money. Plain and simple.

Not really, he did what he said he was going to do. The strong statement was by my fellow Democrats. By not putting together a bill that would either a) not ensure a veto or b) get the 2/3 votes needed to overcome a veto, we proved ourselves unable or uninterested in accomplishing anything while in office. Looks like Republicans will regain control next year.

No,I don't think he had a strong argument for vetoing the bill this country has already spent Billions of dollars and every month 100 or more of our youth are dying! I do will never agree!

Republicans are anti american it's that simple. I remember democrats and independents joining with Bush after 9/11 to fight terror. they could have easily savaged him and had him impeached if they chose to because the evidence was there. he not only didn't act in time but he ignored security briefs that said in plain OBL DETERMINED TO STRIKE. They failed repeatedly. they even caused the debt ceiling collapse and the wall street collapse. they might as well caused the deaths of 3000 people and countless others in iraq and to top it all off iraq and iran are now allies. that would never had happened had saddam still been in power. and i read their internal memo to dealing with Obama and it stated that they should "fight him on everything," they thought this was a good idea during the worst economic disaster in the history of the country which they caused. they are un american.

What strong argument? He said he's veto any bill that had a time table for removing the troops. The democrats ignored it so it got vetoed. Maybe one day they will listen to their boss.

Yes; but I don't think the President is being tough enough when it comes to challenging the Democrates. I think he should call them on the carpet as sell outs, cowards, anti-American. Senator Liberman is the only man among the bunch.

yes, there was senseless pork in this bill. and the way dems bribed other politians to go along with it is disgraceful. but it is the dems fault for making bills go through all those different committees.

I'm sorry, I thought we've already imposed chaos and confusion on our troops by sending them to Iraq unprepared and lacking necessities?
"mandate a rigid and artificial deadline" for troop pullouts, and "it makes no sense to tell the enemy when you plan to start withdrawing."
This was a NON-BINDING resolution based on Iraq and the US's ability to meet the benchmarks they set and agreed to themselves.
I am wracking my brain trying to comprehend how people cannot see that this man is completely out of touch and worse, can still defend and support him.
