Conservative black pastors are accusing white LGBTs of "hijacking" the civil rights movement. This has happened before, but the hate crimes legislation is making it come out again.

How do you deal with it? As a white person, I try to remember that black people can be as bad as whites, and address the opinion rather than the skin color....even if some people try to put the skin color forward.

I'd like to hear from all LGBTs, but wonder particularly how black and part-black LGBTs feel about this and how they deal with it.

As a black person... I feel everyone should have rights weather you are black. white, gay, straight...Im one of the ones that feels that gays should be allowed to marry also...the world is phucked up as it is...no need to complicate things by not having equal rights. A lot of straight men are hiding in a freaking forest...they love gay sex but are mad that they like it...they are mad that the are attracted to men.

Hahaha! I always laugh at that. Not all black people feel EVERYBODY hi-jacks the civil rights movement. But, some do.

Some believe that civil rights are hi-jacked by Hispanics, Jews, Gays, Women, etc. It doesn't matter. They claim this movement as their own when civil rights when it's essentially and most importantly, about equality for ALL people stricken with inequality in the United States and also through out the world. Some assume they are the only minority in this country. Yes, I have heard and read this. Just look at your article. And, yet, look at all the otricities that have occured to Jews, Arabs, Gays, Women, etc throughout the world. Jesse Jackson, a black civil rights leader calls Jew's "Hymies." Or, calls New York "Hymie Town".

It's not Gay's who are hi-jacking civil rights, it's these men and women who are hi-jacking civil rights with their own blatant ignorance.

And, all the thumbs down I get are fine with me. I still vote in favor of Gay Civil Rights so bite me.
