people get married for so many reasons:
-they think marriage will make their partner a better person
-tradition
-people think if you're in love that's just the obvious next step
-scared to be alone
-pressure from family, friends, society or even partner...
-stability
-single parent needs a mother/father for their child
-some believe marriage will settle them down & tame their wild ways
-money

To vow to be together through everything. To make a commitment before their families and God, and then there is the fact that if there was an accident, the spouse gets to make the decisions on how to proceed. When you are not married you have no say and the family gets to choose what happens.

In my case, I got married when I was 7 month pregnant. I had no desire to, but our families overseas, complained all the time over the phone, so my hubby and me went to City Hall and did it. I sang that night, pregnant and glowing: Proud Mary, in a Karaoke place. My best interpretation till now!!
Btw, now, our family calls and doesn't complain anymore!

because they want to be tied down for life and they are in love
also because they have kids and need to provide a good life for their kids. My best friend got married to her baby's dad and they've been together for a little over a year and are happier some just meet their "soul mates" and are able to be happy

because us girls are raised like that!that our goal in life is to get married and have a family!!our mothers were told this and their mothers were told this!i wonder just how many people are "happily"married!!
