You're perhaps thinking of insults.
My least favorite is the song from "Oliver" in which a young woman, soon to die, insists her affection for a villainous type is a compulsion to her. "As Long a He Needs Me: expresses the un-selfish life-hating irresponsible opposite of everything I stand for in life, as "I Gotta Be Me" states the positive. It's a professional effort, but should never for philosophical reasons be sung as a solo outside the show's context.
