If you have high speed and you're seeing no difference, then maybe the bottleneck is your computer.

My new roadrunner was downloading at 2400KB per second, that's fast!!!

Yes, that is 2.4 Megabyte per second!!!

Compared to dial up, hmmm, 5KB per second, thats .005 Megabyte per second, WOW!
