Drafting peterson was a great move but honestly they are not very good at the moment. AP is a very capable back...the problem is that without a good QB and a minimal threat with their passing game one wonders how he will get many yards against a stacked at the line defense. Unless/until they solve the QB problem it will be very easy to defend against them and that exposes the defense to a lot of minutes on the field....not a good thing. If they find a semblance of a passing game they may make a run at 7-9 or 8-8 but realistically they are staring down another top 10 pick in next years draft at the moment...5-11/ 6-10 at best.

The vikings have a history... A history of winning and then losing the big game. Dennis Green lost control and Mike Tice never knew what he was doing. We are rebuilding.

Does that mean we are good? Yes, we are putting together parts that will make us good now and for years to come. We had an excellent draft. They are rookies, but we can only get better from here.

Childress has established a new way to play in minnesota. The players play hard and consistently. All the while they act in a manner of dignity on and off the field. The Minnesota Vikings are a good football team.

If they had only won a super bowl, they would be considered one of the best teams in the NFL.

They have a great history of winning division titles and have one of the best overall winning percentages of any team in history.

Lately, the Vikings have had a tough time. Last years #1 draft pick was injured in training camp, and they changed owners and coaches. This year should be an improvement, as their defense is better and their #1 draft pick will have an immediate impact on the running game. The big question this year is at quarterback. Will T-Jax be able to carry the team or will they need a veteran to pull them through?

A short answer to your question would be - the Vikings are a decent team. They'll probably win 9 or 10 games this year.

I'm a huge fan but "good" would be the limit for how I see them. In fact, I'd classify them as "fair". They're still a year away from being a contender.
The guy below said it very well.

they will be this year. They have Tavaris Jackson at QB. Adrian Peterson at RB and the panthers just let go of Keyshawn Johnson, if they pick him up they will make the playoffs.
