I had a hard time finding information on this myself. When I began to wean I was pumping full time so my son wasn't involved in the process at all. He was already 100% on bottles of my milk.

Basically you have to tell your brain to stop making milk. Start by removing 1 feeding from your 24 hour sequence. Then at the opposite time of day, try removing another feeding. Don't try and skip 2 in a row at first. Then after a couple days, keep removing a feeding. This is signaling to your brain that you're making "too much milk" and it will slow down.

I found out that this process takes MUCH longer than I thought. For about 1 week I still had to pump at least 1-2 times every 24 hours, and then finally, once every day or 2, and then I just stopped. You just need to make sure to do this slowly so you don't cause an infection or other problems.

Good luck!

Did you already breastfeed? Or are you trying to stop the lactation process from starting?
1] If you are weaning the baby from nursing, omit one feed a day until you have stopped all the breastfeeding.- this must be done gradually to prevent engorgement.
2] If you want to prevent breastfeeding, wrap a 6" wide ace bandage around your breasts, over your bra. This must be snug.Wear for 2 weeks.
p.s. Cabbage will help engorgement, but not dry up your milk
