I would definitely have married my first love, but I'm so glad I didn't. He was not nearly mature enough for the long haul. I am a very loyal person and would have stuck with him forever, but I'm so glad I finally realized what a jerk he was. My second true love is my husband. I dated other boys, but that was not love. Love is not a feeling, it is a commitment. It is a decision to stay with that person forever, no matter what happens. Just like the vows say, for better or worse, in sickness and in health, till death do you part. When you are ready for that kind of love, you're ready for marriage. I wish I had waited to give my heart only to my husband and hadn't wasted time on that first loser.

I would say that my first love was my husband. I had crushes on guys before him that felt like I thought I loved them back then. But they were just that, crushes, reason being because I never really dated them but liked them from afar. Husband was my first boyfriend and my first love. Met him when I was 23 married when I was 27.

Very slim chances!!! I wanted to marry my "first" but he broke up with me a year after we graduated. I never knew why but was very upset when he married a year after I did. He only went with the girl a year. Well, that marriage ended in divorce after 22 years. He's still single & we reconnected on Classmates.com just before my divorce went through. I saw him right after my divorce & we had a great reunion. I saw him two more times, but our being together for life, was not to be. (distance) (He told me many times that he should have married me instead of her) In the meantime, I met a great guy, & am now engaged. My "first" will always have a special place in my heart. Yes, I did ask him why he broke up with me & he said he wasn't ready to settle down, but knew I was. He could have told me, but hearing the reason forty years later, isn't so bad, huh? lol
