i saw a vdeo today and u guys know the video that "proves" that america really went to space? well... its bull*shyt.
1. the flag waves. how does it move if u have no oxygen which means u have no air in space?
2. you can see the footsteps of the traveler, but yu can't see the mark that the spaceship they came in left?. i mean, doesnt the ship weight more and is havier, so it should leave a mark?
3. why is the background all black?. where are the stars?

do you guys know what im talking about.. i mean, did nasa really send someone to space?.

The "answer" about the flag is there was a mechanical device that held the flag up and made it wave.
Yes, NASA has put men in space. Whether or not men have been to the moon is another question.

Q:Why would the USA fake a moon landing?
A:The Russian space program beat the US in every step of the "space race" therefore faking a moon landing would boost American spirits.

Q:How could they fake a landing?
A:No one had ever been to the moon so no one knew what it would be like.

Q:What about moon rocks?
A:What does a moon rock look like?

Just some thoughts. I haven't decided what to believe yet. I would like to think we were there but why hasn't any one been back since the early 1970s?

Yes they did. We know this for a couple of reasons, there have been 12 men whom walked on the moon and another couple of dozen in the close selection programs, 50 years later, someone would have talked, some have died, some have become embittered at NASA and the government?

We know they went for a couple of reasons
1. They have moonrocks which could only have been formed under conditions which we are unable to create in a lab.

2. The radio signal from the Earth to the Moon was actually "lost" once during the flight, you can see the movie "The Dish" and you get the distinct impression that there wasn't a whole lot of faking involved.

3. Had the moon landing been faked, the USSR would have been FAST to point that out to anyone who would listen.

4. They left artifacts which we can "see" on the moon, a laser-range finder for one, and in the next couple of years we should have satelites with enough detail to SEE the landing sites.

5. ANYONE can and did tune into the radio signals from the moon, had the earth also been transmitting a signal from some "movie set" there would have been a TINY echo which radio telescopes all over the world would have been able to easily detect. Nobody reported anything like that.

To answer the "questions" raised
1. The flag waves because in the near-vaccum of the moon's atmosphere the exhaust from the moon's rockets make the flag wave, (the flag only "waves" during the return blast-off).

2. You cannot see the footsteps of the spaceship because the camera used for most of the shots was mounted on the spaceship itself. The ship had "landing" pads with large diameters (kind of like the plastic widgets you can get to place under your furniture - which make even heavy furniture very easy to push around), Same thing , just on the bottom of the lander.

3. There are no stars in the background for a couple of reasons.
a. There is WAY WAY too much light from the sun to see even major features in anything other than almost contrast.
b. The photographic equipment they brought was designed for surface shots (like bringing your home camera or cell phone and taking shots of the sky) you never see anything.
c. When the sun was not in the picture, the astronauts all reported that the sky "lit up" with the stars in brilliant form.

For example, The if you take a picture of the moon rising, it is a little tiny disk when it appears very large in the sky because of water vapor and pollution in the atmosphere difracting and bending light at the horizon, which is why the moon and sun appear bigger and redder near the horizon.

Let's address the "sending monkeys or robotic spaceships instead of men to the moon" again, During Apollo 13, problems occured so fast and furiously that there would have been relatively little time to address problems without men making the changes, and the problems they had to solve were completely unanticipated, i.e.; (power requirements , CO2 issues), plus there was damage to the Command Module from the explosion, although this did not cause them to die, it would not have been present on any "mocked up" version of the spaceship.

As far as did we send someone to space, just ask the folks who found the bodies of the 7 astronauts from Columbia if that was all faked, it's not just a conspiracy, it's a death-pact - or not.

1. It's called pendulum motion. While there's no air to push the flag, there's none to stop it, either.

2. The blast crater does exist, but it's much shallower than it would be on Earth because the craft only wieghs 1/6 of what it does here.

3. It's called contrast. If you have a bright foreground, the light from it washes out the dimmer lights in the background. It's been a problem with cameras since the 1830's.

Yes, I know what you're talking about. And, all I can do is shake my head....

You know, don't you, that we're not really in America. That's right - Columbus faked the landing. He never found anything. Not even Indians. And the world was flat - He turned around after sailing in circles for several months.

Of course not the Space Station that can be seen with a simple telescope is actually a big balloon.

Yes, the US went into space and yes the US landed several missions on the moon. Conspiracy theories rarely work, and the more elaborate the hoax the worse the chance to keep the secret.

First you forgot all about the Soviet Union. Up until the first landing on the moon the Soviets were ahead in the Space Race and they saw it as a great way to prove that their system of government was better than that of the US. During the Apollo program the Soviet's watched the US like a hawk. This was during the middle of the cold war with Soviet rulers boldly stating that they will take over the entire world. If they had been able to find one hit of a lie from the US they would have plastered it all over the world and have enjoyed the great propaganda victory. They had equipment and satellites just as effect as those used by the US. They could also monitor communications and with a simple triangulation they would have found them coming from orbit and from the moon. That is a cold hard fact.

I don't know what flag you saw waving or what space ship footprints were missing, but when I was watching it on live TV I didn't see the US Flag moving (it was inflated though) and I surely saw not just the footprints of the LEM but the base which remains on the moon to this day. What you saw was doctored footage.

Now imagine how hard it is to keep a secret. The Apollo program ran for a decade and the space program has run for over 40 years. Employing millions of people. If a single one of them saw a bit of faked imagery they would have gone running to the National Inquirer with the million-dollar story. Yet no credible moon landing debunker exists. If one did then the story would make the national news not just in the US (where your big bad government could censor it) but world wide in areas that the US could not control.

You are also saying that highly respected people like Senator John Glenn are liars. He has been up in the first US manned spacecraft and he has been up in the Space Shuttle. He knows the other astronauts and is famous among the select astronaut core.

The conspiracy that would be needed to cover up the moon landings would involve a huge number of people. Even the crew that would have created the “fake” lunar landing would be too large to keep under wraps this long. There is an old saying; two people can keep a secret if one of them is dead. The human desire to gossip is tremendous and word always seems to get out. Look at all the stories that brought down great and powerful men. Just today I was reading a story about the CEO of British Petroleum having to resign. He failed in his lawsuit to keep his personal sexual history under warps. He had a gay lover and his lover wanted to write a book about their experience. But, one powerful man in control of a mega--billion-dollar corporation couldn’t stop one man from ruining he career.

Richard Nixon a former President was brought down by the Watergate Scandal. Two reports had a source code named “Deep Throat” that they refused to name. They said that they would carry that secret to their deaths. But, Deep Throat came out on his own almost 25 years later. He wanted to write a book, and get paid. This was a big and very famous secret that should have outlived the person it was about, but even he couldn’t keep the secret.

The flag waives from the rocket blast of the Lunar Module when it takes off. You can see the impression left by the blast. You cant see the stars because the light from the sun is very bright (no atmosphere) so the camera lens has to be closed down to a very small opening, and the stars dint shine bright enough to be visible under that condition.
Think of all the people who would have to be sworn to secrecy to cover up a non landing on the moon. People who push the idea that there was no moon landing are doing so to make money by selling their stories.

Photography basics - go to a floodlit stadium. See if you can see the stars. try taking a photo. No stars will come out on the photos.

What you are reading is pure ignorance. Please do not get caught up with it.

The flag waves because it is supported by a horizontal bar and the guys shook it. It will continue to wave for a while because there is no air resistance to stop it.

And who would have taken pictures of the "footsteps" of the lander?

Really, really - do not get caught up in this stuff. Think for yourself. Read about Apollo on the NASA site

We sure did go.

The reason that the background is all black - no stars is that the camera lens is set for near focus on the astronauts and the flag and the space ship, not at infinity where it should be set if you want clear pics of the stars out there.

1. The flag was stuffed with wire to give the apperance of wind in the moons vaccum.

2. Don't know, good point!

3. The background is black because they are in the sun, whos light blots out stars like it does on earth. However, if they were on the other side of the moon there would have been millions of stars!
