I will be in London then Belfast then London from May 22 to June 1st, and I would like to rent a cell/mobile phone while I am there. I am assuming my American cell/mobile phone will not work in the UK. Can anyone suggest a good reasonable place to rent a cell/mobile phone in London for 10 days?

The last time I went to London, I rented a UK mobile phone from a US company (They sent it to me here in the US and I carried it over & back).... I thought it might be cheaper to rent in the UK

Ok

Check with your provider about your phone.
Tell them what you are doing and ask how they can help you.
Most will have arrangements with other networks.

Most Tri and Quad band phones will work in most of Europe.
What you need to know is the charges you will be paying for the roaming service.
Both the cost of you making calls and for others to call you.
Allthough it is nice for people to be able to contact you on you

The idea of using a cheap "pay as you go" sim card is not a bad one.
You can buy them in supermarkets etc.
It will give you your new number and the charges for call's may well be much cheaper than a roaming service.
You would switch the sim card in your own phone for the UK one and people will be able to contact you on the new number.

Here is a website about renting phones etc....

Enjoy your visit !

dont think you can rent some but sim cards over there cost about 10 pounds at the most for a pay as you go. Check to seeif your phone is tri band if it is then it will work over there. London is loaded with phone shops that have cheap pay as you go sim cards.

go to o2.co.uk they have sim cards and theu have free txts and minutes that is the one i use (pay as you go) it is good.

i'm 13 and that i have had a cell telephone considering that 4th grade (age 9). I do imagine that that is mandatory to have a telephone if you're in a subject the position both one in each of your mom and father artwork, like me. My mom initially were given me a telephone on the age of 9 for emergencies and considering that both one in each of my mom and father artwork. i imagine that having a cell telephone as a baby is significant presently, besides the indisputable fact that the better issues that youngsters do like intense texting and social media are truly not mandatory.
