I would say that it will have little effect. Those that support him will support this decision. Those that do not support him, will not agree with the veto. This will not change anyone's mind about the President. I don't think the President cares about his approval rating at this point since he does not have to run for re-election. President Bush has the upper-hand in the whole war funding debate because Democrats do not have enough votes in Congress to override his veto. He knows this and will continue to oppose any time line for withdrawal as long as most Republicans in Congress support him.

It will remain low, as it has for a very long time. His total job approval is in the 30's but the rating on his management of the war is in the 20's. It's clear the American people are sick of the rhetoric and the excuses and the continued failed plans of this President. We all expected him to veto it and it won't change a thing unless it goes even lower and I'm not sure that is possible.

It does not matter what Bush does, he will always be the worst President of the United States. I didn't realize he had an approval rating.

The truth is what does he care ?
At this point his rating are in the john - It makes no difference
He doesn't really care about democracy or the will of the people just his agenda -
if he cared about the will of the people he would have put the "war" up for a referendum
He would if the people agreed with him
He was the one who said life would be easier in a dictatorship - Remember ?
Well your in one now buddy - Good luck with that

Get genuine The Democrats have basically controlled congress considering January (6 months). The low congressional rankings are a effect of events (or inactivities) from 14 years of management (or lack thereof) from the different area of the aisle. The low rankings in each government branch are all GOP pushed.

They will dip. Can't go down too much because they are already near the bottom. It will soon be that no one but his wife and his dog agree with him. Of course he has vowed to stay in Iraq even if that happens

slight bump up possible. more likely no change. since this is only the second veto of his presidency it is newsworthy; but, it was anticipated and no minds will be changed by his position.

Who knows. That 32% of the right-wing nut cases are still supporting him in spite of his incompetence and failures just boggles the mind.

They'll go lower than they already are. Just pull 'em out already or really fight the war. Bomb them into submission or get out.
