waste, as already mentioned, is toxic, and will destroy the cell. so the cell must expel the toxins out, or it will die. that would mean the death of the organism. a healthy cell efficiently gets rid of waste by-products of metabolism.

Waste can be toxic (poisonous) if it builds up in cells. So the cells get rid of the waste by diffusion or some other method.
