Yes i do, and dont worry about it. I think that what you should do is change your pad/tampon more often. It could just be a build up of blood. If you change your tampon/pad every four hours (i know, who does?) it can greatly decrease that choclaty look of it when you do have your period. It just shows that you have a heavy flow. And if you stay with an unsanitary pad for more than 6 hours, it could cause some really nasty infections and sometimes viruses. (i am not saying your unclean, just a suggestion, remember you asked) But just to make sure, always ask your doctor. They get those kind of questions all the time, trust me

This answer is from a woman gynecologist. I have had many women ask this question.
It is perfectly normal for menstrual blood to be different colors. Some differences may result from how long the blood stays in the uterine cavity before coming out the cervix.

Hi Sarah....you didn't mention your age......if this is your first year of having a period it's often unpredictable and can darken or lighten....... if your older then it could be that your passing Blood Clots which are Dark and Syrupy in consistency....unless there is an unusual odor i wouldn't be to worried about it...next time you see your doctor you might want to mention it.

if u have a thick cervix, then when your period starts the blood will be darker it may also contain blood clots... if you are experiencing painful periods or pelvic pain in between periods go and get a pap to check for endometreosis.. some pills make u have strange side effects..

Yes, if you are bleeding a normal amount [changing pad/tampon every 4-6 hours ] and the normal number of days
[.2-8 days].
Color and consistency vary a lot, most are normal.

.....not normal that i know of, no... sounds like clotting but thats only sometimes, certainly not all the time.... you REALLY need to mention this to a doc... could be too much shedding and could be mild uterine hemmorhage... or it could be just "whats normal for you". of course if its been this way for years then id assume youre just you :)

i Have the same problem its because i am on the Pill.
It just means your womb is thicker than most and matures earlier so when it is discharged, it is almost dead tissue therefore darker.
If you are concerned, see a doctor. :)
