Luck has absolutely nothing to do with it. When a couple gets name tattoos and they DONT work out....they say its because of the tattoo. Now how much sense does that make? Its just another way to blame everything ELSE in the world for the failure of the relationship besides yourself. Like some ink and a needle can damage communication skills, kill the passion, and lower trust levels. lol. No. It's not bad luck. Its just a tatoo. Some love it and see it as an ultimate expression of dedication. Some strongly disagree. Some relationships are meant to last forever, tatooed or not. Some aren't.

Bad luck or not, but if you break up tomorrow, the surgery to remove the tattoo is a little more painful than getting a tattoo in the first place ;-)

i got a tattoo with her name on it and we ending breaking up 5 months later. but i dont see it as bad luck. I was so lucky to have her in my life, eventhough we're not together anymore... We both still love eachother very much ( i wont explain why we broke up, its too complicated) she was the first person I truely loved and everythime I look at it, its a reminder that there are things in this life worth living for. I dont regret it at all.

A lot of people say its really stupid or childish to get a persons name tattooed on your body. I totally disagree. If your not in a good realtionship and you know you wont last more than a month, than maybe u shouldnt get it; but if you are with the person for years and you plan/ want to spend the rest of your life with that person, then its not stupid. people always tell me that I shouldn't have gotten her name, but soemthing that I wont regret when I'm older....but to me, getting a tat of someone that you love is a lot more meaningful then something like a butterfly or heart.

I don't know about luck, but it seems rather childish to me...if you want a tattoo, there are an infinite number of cool graphics..why be so unimaginitive as to use block lettering of a name that will disappear withint a few months / years, if history is any indicator.???? On the other hand, there is an entire industry out there that needs to be supported...tattoo removal.

not bad luck , however a bad choice. i mean you dont even know if you're gonna be with that person for the rest of your life. what if this person leaves you? what happens? the tattoo doesnt leave. Then you're stuck with a tattoo of someone who left you and explanations on why and who? not to mention the regret you may have everytime you look at it. i just wouldnt do it if you are considering it.

It's a bad omen, don't do it without realizing that their name is on you for life, it may even outlast your relationship.

Maybe get something less verbal, like if you both get the same tattoo in the same place.

Never get tattoo's of boy friends or girlfriends, if there would be a break up, you would be stuck with then name on your body, and the cost to have it removed is over 2,000.00 bucks.
Hope this helps ya.

not bad luck, just not smart. what if you breakup, then you have them tattooed on you for life. personally the only names i would tattoo on my body are my family's or my kids. wives or girlfriends, no way too risky.

i think so. it's automatic kiss of death. all my friends who've gotten matching tatts aren't together. in fact, it ended on high drama terms. not cool.

didn't we learn anything from shane & carmen? lol
