Absolutely. I think what should be done is to re-register everyone with valid citizenship papers or birth certificate and do away with the current registry. It can be done.

If you never had to show some ID to vote then you must be a white guy from the South...
The question is should they actually count the votes this time?
Should they just put the election on FOX during American Idol? That might give them the outcome that they are looking for... Jenna Bush would be the next President and she would release a best selling album at the same time...
The Iraq War would continue for another decade and everyone would be so happy that they don't need to vote Democrat to have a blonde in the White House....

Yes you do need to show proof of citizenship with your voter's registration card. If you don't have that card then you aren't entered on the roles and you are not supposed to be able to vote. It is as shame that some states don't seem to be enforcing it.
When California offered to let illegal aliens get a State Driver's License they opened to door to giving illegal aliens a voter registration card.
I have no idea how it would have effected the last election, but the last presidential election probably wouldn't have been effected as much since illegal immigration wasn't as big of a perceived problem back then. In reality the illegal immigrant issue has been a problem for well over 30 years.

I don't know about other states, but in California you have to register in advance of the election and the registration form includes your social security number. I would assume/hope the elections board reviews social security numbers to ensure the number matches the name of the voter. Then when you go to vote you have to show a picture id and sign in. Short of having a national id card with your photo, I don't know if there is a better way to prove citizenship.

The reason you've never had to prove citizenship is because you were born here. Should you have to prove citizenship? You already do and of course you should! Common sense brotha!

Of course you should have to prove citizenship! All voting booths require an address and valid id.

Of course. I believe Bush would have won with a larger majority. However, that seems to be a bad thing right now. If Bush somehow gets it back together it would be good. Dems like the welfare stuff, so the illegals vote for them.

Yes. I think so. There are too many people who are not citizens trying to get the right to vote. Voting is a PRIVILEGE just because you are here doesn't mean that you have the right to vote. You can lose that privilege, felons can't vote, mental patients can't vote, why on Earth do ILLEGALS think they should be allowed to?
