because they live in a gated community and have no clue what is going on in the real world... as they clearly show on here...
they think the average income in America is $200,000 and if you're not making that much, you're not trying...
and they grew up there, so that's all they know... and they're afraid to know anything else...
they think that all poor people drive around in corvettes and listen to ipods...

I totally know what you mean. I worked in a Fortune 100 Company and had great benefits by my state's standards, but I still paid over $200.00 per month for my family of 3. Not ot mention I worked in a job I hated, for a company I loathed, despite making a great salary.
I now work for a much smaller company, and isn't that the American Dream, for small business owners? I still make great money, but the resources to have the fabulous health care plans are limited. I now pay twice as much for less coverage, but I'm in a job I love.
This is what is known as the "working poor," hence the shrinking middle class.
So apparently I have to sell my soul to make as much money as possible to get the really good benefits no matter who I trample on or screw to get ahead. At that point, I guess I'll have to call myself a conservative or Republican, because then nothing that currently matters to me will mean anything any more.

People are ignorant. Repubs think if you don't have insurance, just buy it. They have no thought to the affordability of it. Ex gov of Florida, Jeb Bush took a lot of state jobs and "privatized" them. That means the companies that took over pay the employees less and don't have to provide pensions and insurance. The employees become part of the working poor, living at poverty level. The state pays the companies (friends of Bushes) more in total than they were paying the workers. That's one example of how Repubs and Bushes work.

My suggestion, find a job that has insurance. Most large companies off insurance to full time employees after 3 months.
to g: what does living in a gated community and making $200k a year have to do with getting a job that offers insurance? I make $40k and have insurance.

Do you have a car payment?
What about rent mortgage?
Cable TV? Digital Service ? HDTV?
Internet Access?
Mag subscriptions?
Cell Phone?
What is your monthly budget? Annual? Projected for 5 years?
Food costs?
Maybe you choose not to have insurance because you are paying for your "wants" instead of your "needs"
Hey ICMCPA: Link medical insurance quotes fair plans starting at the same cost as a new car per month. family of FOUR in San Diego CA. If you make 40K per year that translates to 1/9 of your salary. If wife works and adds $25K thats about 1/13. Maybe you should research before you speak. Oh I forgot you are a lib and can't.

The whole health care system is putting a drain on our economy. Employers are not going to be able to keep providing health care for long.

Probably because people don't want to admit that we have a serious health care crisis in this country. It's more comforting to think "he's just some loser that doesn't have a job" that "hmmm, I wonder why all these hardworking Americans don't have access to affordable health care?"
