At first he was only suspended for a week which i thought was pathetic, but i don't feel he should of lost his job, and yes its true ppl say these types of things all the time and get away with it which i feel is unfair but that's just the way things happen. Also Don Imus would of still had his job had not his sponsors pulled out which means a lost of MONEY. It all about MONEY!!!

I dont think Don Imus lost the job strictly because of what he said; he lost it because it got broadcast all over the internet and, then, other TV stations, which provoked a lot of protests, particularly in NY. Once the protests started, and the advertisers of Imus' show were targeted, the advertisers bolted. Once his show lost advertisers(i.e. MONEY), CBS radio didnt want to keep him around.

No. Imus was only quoting a Spike Lee movie. As usual, the media completely overreacted and the two most insane people in the world, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson-both of whom should have no credibility whatsoever after each's personal political fiasco and scandal-Jumped on the wagon and got him fired.

Yes, i was glad he lost his job as he was getting away with this way too long and this just put it over the edge. I have had to turn that station a number of times because of the terrible language and the terrible things he said. They just made fun of people too many times and this was the last straw. Those girls did not deserve this as they were intelligent girls getting an education and playing sports. I t hink it was just terrible what he said. And he meant it too, you could tell.

I think for some time that Imus, who I used to watch faithfully, has lost his edge. He comes across as a grumpy, old man. His comment was just icing on the cake. I believe the network was willing to slap him on the wrist until public pressure got to them.

I do think people deserve second chances but why on earth do words like THAT come out of peoples mouths ? I feel he should have been disciplined in a big way but not fired.

Yes, he deserved to be fired. It is time that we raise the standards and levels of discourse in this country.

He lost his interest through uproar with regard to the remark, not the remark itself. numerous of his sponsers initially pronounced they could "wait out the typhoon" yet without postpone replaced their positions while the "typhoon" did not blow away. If the standard public and media hadn't freaked out, thye could have had no concern with him through fact he makes them funds.

I agree with you, the first time I heard those words, was on the Maury show, and it was blacks calling other blacks those names. Let's just all stop the name calling, how about it??
