My boyfriend and I are looking for two apartments both are one bedroom apartments. One is 795 that includes heat/hotwater and the othe is 695 with no utlities. We're trying to figure out which is the better deal. They're about the same size, good area, close to work/school. In RI how much does electricty/heat and hotwater cost?

I would say the one bedroom at $795. (I used to live in southern RI myself). With fuel costs constantly rising you're better off locking in on a predictable rate. $100/mo for all utilities is a fair deal. I'm in a tiny 600sf 2 br in CT and pay as much as $250-300/month for oil in winter ...and i supplement with a wood stove. Unless the 695 is super energy efficient the 795 is a good deal.
