Does anyone here own this rat cage? - http://www.martinscages.com/products/cages/rat/

I'm talking about the R-670, the rat cabin. does anyone have it? what are their thoughts on it? Would you reccomend it? Is it big enough for 2 bucks (males)?

The Martins make the BEST cages (and they have GREAT customer service) but I think the 670 is a bit small. The 690 is WONDERFUL, I owned one for many years. Some people really like the 680 or 685. Right now I have the 695 which is fantastic.

You can never have too much room! Buy the BIGGEST cage you can afford and have space for. And ALWAYS get the powder coating.

Have fun!

I agree w/ ericams8... I've had many small animals. You really want one of the models with a plastic base further down on that web page. They're a lot easier to clean. I don't mean to be gross, but sooner or later, the rat urine will chemically react with the metal base and leave a coating that holds odor and is extremely difficult to remove. The plastic base also will not be as cold as the metal base for the rats, plastic insulates better. Another thing that was really annoying about the metal base was the sharp edges. Sometimes I got scratched on the corners when cleaned the cage.

you could do it, but i would go with the 680 or the 685 looks like it would be better and easier to clean, it's back ordered but would be worth the wait, it's almost identical to mine and it's great and really easy to clean. good luck:)
