I have a Masters in Engineering that I got while I was working full-time. A lot of places will give you some variety of a promotion if you get an applicable degree while working. I think finding jobs gets more difficult at the PhD level because your area of expertise is perceived to be quite narrow, and lots of places assume that they can't afford to hire you to do a job that you're over-qualified for. Some masters are more flexible (and sellable) than others, and the money varies all over the place depending on the masters area.

I have a masters degree.
It is in public health (epidemiology).
I had a job secured as soon as I applied for one.
I get paid far less than most masters-level workers, but that's only because public health generally pays little. For what I do, I actually get paid well compared to other people in similar positions. I could get paid twice this if I worked at a pharmaceutical company. But I like my job, so it's fine.
