Triangle XYZ is missing a length. we need to find XY it is similar 2 triangle a: 12.5/10.5 XYZ: 5/x How can i figure this out?

I cannot figure out what your triangles are at all. But you can do your own problem knowing that a similar triangle is one that has the same shape but proportionately different side lengths. So if you have a 3, 4, 5 right triangle, for example, a similar one that has sides 3/2, 4/2, z would have z = 5/2 because all three sides would be 1/2 length of the similar 3, 4, 5 triangle.

In your case, find out what the proportion is on one side and that works for the other two sides as well on a similar triangle.
