I heard about this on the news, and it's real. Bee keepers across the country are noticing a drastic drop in numbers of bees. Bees pollinate virtually 99% of our crops. We had better pay attention to this. This could have devastating consequences.

Well it could be a fungus infestation due to climate change, GM crops,or cell phones. When we have so little to go on, we tend to grasp on to the next new theory. But you will find that the "Killer bees" have a greater tolerance to what is killing the normal honey bee.

Is that your theory? This is a plausible explanation but so far not supported, as the bees are dying off world wide which pollinate approximately .25% of the world's populations food supply. So in a not so mathematical social science way. More people (Growing earth populations) + Less food (No bees, less food) = famine, war, disease and less cell phones. :)

The beekeepers don't seem to support this theory; they are blaming mite infestations.
I think that a resistant strain of bees will develop, with or without human help, and the numbers will rise again. We may have some inconvenience before then, but we won't starve.

It's a "mite" that is killing the bees. Do grow up!
