All depends on the candidate. The country is ready for change and ready for a democrat to take control of executive power in the country but it has to be the right person. I do not O'bama, although he may become a great politican, would win an election held in 2008, primarily due to (and I hate saying this but...) his skin color. America is more ready to have a woman lead the country than it is a Black man. If you do not believe that then go and ask those who aren't from big cities or traditionally red states. Read between the lines and past the politically correct answers you're sure to get, then tell me what you think.

It probably depends on what happens internationally by then. If the enemies are canny enough to play it cool until then, the Democrats have a better chance. If they feel compelled to commit some serious provocation directly against the US, the Republicans have a better chance. Obviously the recent provocation against the UK didn't have much effect, but it should. The UK is our ally.

A Democrat. It'd be interesting to see a Green Party candidate win, though.

Well, even though the Republicans are not very popular right now (even within their own party) I still think a Republican will be elected president.

For one thing, Americans don't like it when one party controls the White House, the House, and the Senate. I also think that Hillary will win the nomination (as long as Gore doesn't enter) and that Hillary will not pull the same suburban Republican women that Bill Clinton did when he was in office. In short, I think Hillary is un-electable in a presidential election.
