Well, I'd say that I am an intelligent person who listens to rap, so yes.
Good rap music is like good country music; it's lyrical, poetic, and can be extraordinarily funny.

yes i have, in fact, many people in my school do. it usually all depends on the area the person lives in and the people they hang with ( psychology term is " groupthink")- NOT THEIR GRADES( the type of music they listen to). and if you have ever listened to the REAL rappers, you wiill find that many discuss issues that can commonly be found in intellectual conversations (poverty, government, intnl relations, etc) ....although, im sure youve never been able to keep up w. such a conversation so you wouldnt be able to recognize one if you heard one.
maybe YOU should start listening to rap ;D

I have. In all seriousness, I know of a Harvard educated medical doctor who sometimes listens to Method Man.
And not to toot my own horn, but I also listen to rap sometimes and graduated from college with a 3.9 GPA.

I have never met an INTELLECTUAL person that listens to rap. (That doesn't mean they're not intelligent.) But I think you have a good point.... It's usually those focused on the social and sexual circuit that listen to rap all the time (in my experience, anyway).
I heard a study a few weeks ago stating that heavy-metal listeners are not usually the drug-taking, low-intelligence people that some would assume. The majority of people who listen to heavy metal are highly-stressed students and intelligent people who listen as a way of releasing stress.
