You shouldn't come in like that, but it also depends on the job. He must not care about making a good impression if he was like that. In reference to the job, if he was coming in to apply for a job like a mechanic or welder it would be better than him applying for an accountant position or something.

As gross as that is, it depends more on his qualifications. If you have 30 applicants, and he is the only one that can do the job, I guess he would get it!
